congrads! You found our blog! Pretty cool, huh! I created this, because I hate to write in notebooks! I would much more rather type. anyway........
We had a great day today and got lots accomplished. Here is what we did:
LArts- read "Clouds" in our weather book. read chapters 3&4 in Amanda Pig (the fight chapter was halarious and they loved it!) they are getting to be such good readers, also read "Owl and the Pussy Cat". spent a lot of time on vocabulary for this story.
Science- learned out Thomas Edison, made a moving picture--see folder. It was so funny because David's was the only one that really turned out. Isaac and Holden were plowing through it and cutting jagged edges so it doesn't really turn well. David had those nice neat edges. So David! We also did the unit review and assesment. They aced this!
History- finished the Trojan Horse. They were so into this. I had them write their history record pages themselves and color a picture. Man, we need to work on handwriting! They were using capitals everywhere and run on sentances galore.
Music- lots of fun. we did a song from Greece (track 14) and moved to it using heavy and light movement (gets them ready for phrasing as well as emphasis on certain notes) they learned that this was an uneven meter and how we would clap this. We also drummed to a song from iceland (track 18) and learned the word syllables to the ostinato (du du dude dude). We listened to 3 more movements from the Carnival of the Animals (the cuckoo, birds, and the pianist). I will copy this CD when we finish it next week so everyone can listen at home. They are really enjoying this.
For next week-------
*Santy Maloney (track 16)
*Peas (track 20)
