Ranae, this looks great! I've got some pics to download, too. Sorry for the all the sickness - let's hope it's nearly done....

Like we talked about, I think having them write their own short summary of the day's history lesson is a great idea. I think it would be ok to help them with spelling on this, so that when we use this for unit reviews we can read it and understand what they wrote. Also, I think having them date these and put the unit and lesson numbers would be helpful (for review purposes as well.) Let's put lined paper into their history folders for this purpose - having a lot of room to write is helpful to them. As I said before, I'd like to encourage them to write neatly without making too much of an issue out of it for this subject - let's limit that to phonics and language arts. However, I do think that making an issue out of the artwork and cutting projects is a good idea - maybe Suzy can provide some feedback on this.

I'm going to the library tomorrow - as long as Ella is reasonably healthy - because I need a book for Wed. science lesson. Do you guys need anything? OK, my first blog entry - how exciting!
