2ND grade History-We discussed the Punic war between Carthage and Rome the boys were amazed to hear that it went on for about 100 years. They thought the Romans were clever when a Carthaginian ship that was ship wrecked on the coast of Italy, was taken apart and studied. In a few weeks, they figured out how to copy it and build their own ships. Up until that time Romans did not have ships and were great fighters on land. They fought by crashing the ships into each other because guns and cannons were not invented yet. They also thought Regulus was great for being an honest man, but we had a great descussion about why he would go back to prison on his own after he had been released. The boys did a great job on their maps today. They are all getting into the book I have been reading at the end of class.
2ND grade art-Ranae and Ms. Gavlinski if you have time could you please send the boys art stuff on color from last year. (Color wheel, gray scale, tints and shade.) We are going over it again for review in the next two units.
Thank You, Suzy
