We got to celebrate Harrison's birthday, so that was fun! Here is what we did.......
K Music- talked about music that is special for specific occasioins (like "Happy Birthday" and "Take Me Out To The Ball Game"). We played musical baseball using the glockenspiel, we learned that "p" means soft and "f" means loud and sang songs loud and soft and danced to music that was loud and soft. We reviewed Lucy Locket. Good Class.
K History- The Indians of the Eastern Woodlands. We learned how they used the forest around them to make thier homes (wigwams) and hunted animals for food and clothing. They used porcupine quills to decorate thier clothes which they thought was funny. The wigwams turned out to be better hats. Oh, well....you know my track record with crafts!
Drama- we learned the 6 sections of the stage and played a game using the 3 directions (center, right and left) and the positions (down stage, center stage, and up stage). We warmed up our bodies and tongues with some fun tongue twisters and songs. We handed out scripts and read through the first 2 scenes and listened to the songs that go with those scenes. Once we got into the reading of the scripts they really got into it. The scripts are in the green folders. They don't need to be worked on yet until they have the Cd. I will have those for next week. It is going to be very cute :-).
