Here is what we did yesterday. It was a fairly good day, and I think we got a lot done!
K History- the part of the lesson on Betsy Ross took only about 15 minutes to present, but the star cutting activity got them so excited that we spent 25 minutes on that. Quinn cut out one start and spent the rest of the time coloring it. Ella cut out one for each member of the family, even Dailey, and Nadia and Shaylene got into it. Too cute.
K Music- I gave them a paper staff and they used note chips to write melodies I sang to them using 3 notes "C, D, and A". They did really well with this. We learned the rhythm to "Lucy Locket" and how to play the first 2 measures on the Glock. We also learned a hand jive to help them remember the notes in the song. We learned a fun elephant song and danced to it.
Drama- Did our projection warm-up. Everyone did really well with being loud. We practiced isolations for our warm-up to get them focused and then played another focus game called "Zip, Zap, Zot", you'll have to ask them how to play. We worked as a group on "Rumpus in the Rainforest". I worked with the explorers on their song and added Ella as an explorer to help with the song. Ella and Holden did awesome on their cat song and it is almost ready to add the stage part too. Listen to the CD. The more they know the music, the more comfortable they will be. Suzy worked on art and helped Shaylene start her mask and got the Shaman's table started.
