K Wed Science and History

Rachelle, so is the party the 27th or 3rd? Either date works here.
We're in for Ella's dance recital, probably 4 of us.
I just started getting some info on the shoeboxes, I'll pass it to you as I get more.
We would be interested in doing a service project. No different ideas are popping in my head. I'll keep thinking.

Science- we talked about seeds and how the fruit of a plant is the seed. We looked at a tomatoes pepper, apple and pear to see it's seeds. They drew a picture of each one of these. We learned about graphs and did one to count seeds. They did so well figuring this out!

History- we visited Japan. We made fish kites- which in in Japan they fly outside their homes on children's day (June 5th) for good luck, flying one for each child in the home. When I told them Konichiwa they said we already know that-they remembered from world music. My sitter came by while we were doing this lesson, she had just been to Japan this summer, so she was able to add some info while we took the tour. We didn't do the lunch boxes, depending on the lesson next week, maybe we can do it then.
