Wed K science and history

Wow! good thing it was an easy day!
History went pretty well and took longer than I thought even without the salt dough. I had to do a lot of getting back on track mostly with the girls. They were not being the best at being kind with each other. Now they seem better. Quinn did really well at focusing. We didn't get the last picture done. We did do the concentration game pieces for the animals that life on the savana, and played the game. We covered the areas of Africa (savanna and Lake Victoria, Nile and Congo Rivers). Ranae, I went over with them what color dough they will be doing on what areas for next week.
Science was a pretty short lesson. We didn't do either optional. We read about Jane Goodall and how she lived with the chimpanzees in order to study them. We went outside and they followed ants for 2 minutes to track what they do and tried to watch birds flying. This was it though, they were so done after this. I tried to ask assessment questions, but didn't get much out of them. I told them that moms would be asking the questions.

They are doing really well dispite Ilaiza and Ryan interupting. I'm still trying to figure things out since the time change. I'm just having a hard time getting Ilaiza down for a nap. Ryan usually goes down good if he had an early enough nap #1. I may need to figure out a new plan for Ilaiza. I would try to skip her nap, but then she gets cranky and loud and if Ryan isn't down yet, it's hard to deal with both of them.
Any ideas from you pros who have dealt with the younger ones?

I'm looking forward to Saturday.

Cindy
